I’m Julie Pech, owner of The Chocolate Therapist and author of the book “The Chocolate Therapist: A User’s Guide to the Extraordinary Health Benefits of Chocolate.” I’ve spent my entire life studying health and nutrition, and when the health benefits of chocolate news broke, almost a 10 years ago, I decided to bail on corporate America and chase my dream of becoming an author. I wrote the book, started speaking, traveling on cruise ships as a guest lecturer, teaching classes and hosting corporate events. Two years in to it I developed a chocolate bar line, then ended up purchasing the company who was making the bars when the owners decided to retire.
After I purchased the shop, we changed all the recipes to include only the best ingredients, free from dyes, preservatives and unnatural ingredients. All of our chocolate is handcrafted onsite, and we always have samples 🙂 We also added fresh, local-roast coffee and espresso made with dairy-fresh, hormone-free milk.
